The hype beast over them all, sneakers, have taken over the fashion scene. From being restricted to sportswear outfits, sneakers are now the go to style for all looks, from formal to casual.
JACK & JONES FOOTWEAR Head Stylist Louise Kronborg takes you through the biggest trends in the sneaker category this spring and most importantly, how to style them.
Show of some skin
How to style sneakers
“Sneakers are the new black and can be styled with everything from sporty to casual looks, even when going out. Whatever you choose, you should show off your ankles this spring. Choose a pant with elastic at the hem or roll up your jeans to get the right effect. Either go barefoot or use ankle socks.”
Suede it up
How to wear suede shoes
“Suede will take over the streets of fashion this spring. Both sneakers and loafers in suede give you the perfect look. It’s ultra-soft leather that gives an exclusive look and sets it apart from the usual sneaker suspects.
You should style your light suede sneakers or loafers with chinos with a trendy roll-up. It’s a classy look that doesn’t compromise on comfort.”
How to wear white sneakers
“White low-top sneakers just don’t get old. This spring it’s still one of the hottest items in footwear. It’s a very versatile styling piece and can be styled with both casual and sporty looks, as well as more formal, going-out outfits. Here, they’re styled with a cas-formal outfit and bare ankles.”
“With white trainers, you should make sure to keep them white – there’s nothing trashier than dirty white sneaks. Use our foam cleaner to clean them and spray with our protective coating to keep them clean.”
How to style colourful sneaks
“A sneaker with pop colours is for the guy who doesn’t mind standing out in a crowd. Stay clear of other strong colours and keep the styling monochrome and neutral to let the sneaker pop. This look is a great example of the athleisure trend.”
